This will acknowledge receipt of your letter dated April 26, 1972, regarding pipeline coating.

Your specific questions are:

Question #1: Do you have any enforcement provisions of guidelines that would give more explicit standards?... (on) paragraphs 195.236, 195,238, and the section following 192.451.

Answer: No, we do not have more explicit standards.

Question #2: Are there any specific licenses or test that a foreign company must pass before they can sell their pipeline coating products in the United States?

Answer: No, the gas pipeline safety regulations do not specify licenses or tests that a foreign company must pass before they can sell their pipeline coating products in the United States.

Question #3: Do you have any product specification studies that might be of assistance in determining the salability of a coating product?

Answer: No, we do not have any specification studies.
